Meet Diane

I have an unusual skillset – to say the least.

So let me break it down for you, in three parts:

1. I know the body. Really, really well.

I graduated with a honours science degree in Biochemistry, and as a fresh grad I worked as a researcher with a Canadian NGO assessing the impact of pharmaceuticals in rural and developing regions. I had every intention of becoming a traditional MD—but a trip to Vietnam, where Eastern and Western medicine manages to co-exist, changed my whole trajectory. I enrolled at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and put myself through school working as a yoga instructor and fitness trainer, while simultaneously studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture (I didn’t sleep much, those years.) Translation? I know how bodies work—how to detect when they’re out of sync, how to bring them back into harmony, and how to pin-point the ideal remedies for conditions of every cause (for effect).

2. I can peer into the mind + heart. And see what’s under the hood.

My meditation and yoga practice stretches back more than 20 years, and I’ve been a seeker-activist since my elementary school days (my mom and dad indulged my late-night diatribes on famine and poverty with considerable grace). I’m open-minded (and very curious) about the ways that our inner worlds—our memories, egos and consciousness—translate into our outer worlds—our behaviour, habits and actions.

In addition to being a Naturopathic Doctor, I’m also a certified Reiki Master and the only ND in North America to be certified in PaRama 2 Level BodyTalk. In other words: I’m a highly-trained energy worker, intuitive body-scanner, and transformative healer. I’ve spent years understanding and honing these skills, to allow me to tune into unseen physical and emotional patterns and relationship dynamics that influence your health and behaviour—keeping you stuck and unable to move forward, despite your intellectual mind knowing otherwise. My FAQ section drills into more details about my “shamanic side,” if you’re keen to explore.

3. I’m creative, collaborative, devoted to social change—and extremely goofy.

In order to make a difference, you need to be healthy not only in body, but in mind and spirit. We are connected within our systems as well, as a planetary system. Healing is, at its core, a collaborative effort. I looked extensively for systems and strategies to do this efficiently, effectively and elegantly. When I didn’t find it, I set out to develop it myself.

I have seen that as more of us take on the challenge and opportunity of healing ourselves, more of the highest qualities that make us human are made available. The sharing of those gifts helps everyone around you evolve, just a little bit faster. And registers as progress that shifts us into a different, and I trust better, way of being as a global society.

And while I tend to spiral into provocative riffs and passionate rants on personal and planetary evolution (you’ll get used to it, trust me) I also have a strong propensity towards guffaws, giggles and outbursts of infectious laughter. I have been shushed countless times for my so-called “cackling.” For this, I offer no apologies
