1. What made you decide to work with Diane? Was there an obvious advantage or anything specific that made her stand out in some way?
I was recommended to Diane by a friend with the goal of learning to eat right and lose a few pounds. I was completely taken aback by the wonderful and insightful experience of self discovery Diane has led me through in her gentle, firm and brilliant manner. A few years and 2 kids later, I could not be happier with learning about myself and embracing change as it comes my way.
2. What was life like before working with Diane?
I led a very rigid lifestyle before meeting Diane. Everything had to be just so because that was the rule or guideline. Black and white were the only 2 colours I saw. With these limitations, any form of change was hard to accept or embrace.
3. How has working with Diane helped?
Diane was able to cleverly teach me to look inside myself and approach life with a sense of responsibility and respect, allowing me to celebrate the present, and not dwell on the past or fast forward to the future. She helped me see that my rules were self-inflicted and pattern forming and sometimes learned from past generations. I’m learning to break the mould of destructive behaviour, embrace and own my decisions.
4. Tell us more about the process and how you worked it through.
Through BodyTalk and follow-up counselling, Diane was able to pinpoint certain areas in my life that needed nourishing. Each conversation seems dynamic, but at the core of my decision-making there are certain themes and behaviours that pop-up, and a few a-ha moments have come to light.
5. What is it about working with Diane that you find most valuable?
If only I can find the words! My belief is Diane’s chemistry with her patient’s yields effective results. BodyTalk and her other treatment approaches, while amazing are just tools. Diane has a way of effectively taking these tools and seamlessly incorporating them into her sessions.
6. What have you learned about yourself?
I have learned to appreciate and rediscover myself through every milestone I have experienced with Diane. There is still so much to learn and I am looking forward to these lessons instead of being intimidated or demonstrating resistance.
7. What have been your biggest insights/light bulb moments from working with Diane?
I come from a very strong female-dominated family and from our very first session, Diane recognized that the patterns from generations past, on my mother’s side, strongly influence my approach to life. One of these traits is taking on challenges that are not mine to solve. I have learned just recently that it’s okay to observe, step back and allow individuals to resolve on their own.
8. What are you working on now? What is life like now?
Nothing and everything. Life is amazing and delicate, but needs work. Working with Diane has taught me that recognizing lessons learned is not a static process.
9. What would you like to celebrate?
So many things I’ve been blessed with and too many to list. In terms of Diane, I can’t find the words to express my gratitude for her unconditional care and friendship. I truly wish I can take her around in my pocket and show her off to the rest of my world.
